Seems pretty innocuous. She didn't claim to receive a visit from God, or Jesus Christ, or even a prophet or angel. She received a visit from an ancestor, who showed her visions.
If my grandfather came over to my house and showed me a bunch of videos, and then told me to relate what I saw to others, would anybody have a cow?Last edited by Katy Lied; 08-08-2015, 09:54 AM.

I totally want to join that FB group but I don't want anyone to see that I joined it."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

It is a secret group so I don't think it will show up. You just need to find a member to get you on. Once you do then get me on. I like reading this stuff for the entertainment value.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI totally want to join that FB group but I don't want anyone to see that I joined it."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

That fb thread picqued my interest (I think I noticed DH using peak interest, so I googled this and discovered peak is accepted usage and more common now). I learned a couple things. 1) this NDE thing is a phenomenon that goes across religions (within American Christianity), all with similar end of the world kind of elements. 2) this is big business. Julie may have started this innocently, but it's a full fledged commercial enterprise now. Definitely financially motivated.

But is peek acceptable? That would be my preferred term.Originally posted by jay santos View PostThat fb thread picqued my interest (I think I noticed DH using peak interest, so I googled this and discovered peak is accepted usage and more common now). Moving military equipment is also big business. At least twice a year, you'll see several tracked howitzers be hauled just from the Utah National Guard for training missions. Oh the horror!

If she wasn't financially motivated she would be giving the stories about her NDE visions away for the benefit for all (in the form of something like a free, downloadable PDF file that is, of course, is protected with a digital signature so folks know it hasn't been altered). Instead she has had a couple of best sellers in mormonism on Amazon (one of her books was the best seller in mormonism for some time). She was thinking too small, however. She should have sold "Julie Rowe 72 hour kits" and maybe even created a Julie Rowe youtube channel or something to promote her stuff and to sell ads. She could have cleaned up at PrepperCon! Maybe it is not too late given that selling fear seems like big business.Originally posted by jay santos View PostThat fb thread picqued my interest (I think I noticed DH using peak interest, so I googled this and discovered peak is accepted usage and more common now). Being an engineer and entrepreneur maybe I should get into this LDS centric, prepper market. It would be fairly easy to package together, say, fairly easy-to-install, off-the-grid wind/solar power generation solutions (marking them up only about 5x because I am "helping" folks). I wonder how much Jules would charge me for letting tag along with her on her speaking tours and set up a small table in the foyer of the places she goes. Julie, if you are listening, PM me!Last edited by Uncle Ted; 08-09-2015, 06:43 AM."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

So, what is the next move for these people after dates from specific prophecies pass? I'm sure many (read: all?) of their previous prophecies have gone unfulfilled, so they just plug along and try for more prophecies to scare 16 year old kids?
Must be a fun life.

I think Jules was saying this was all going down in 2014. See http://www.docdroid.net/negu/red-flags.odt.html for example. Since then she adjusted things to 2015.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostSo, what is the next move for these people after dates from specific prophecies pass? Note to myself about my new "sell by fear" business: always say the end of the world is "just around the corner" in order to strike a sense of urgency to buy my junk in myvictimscustomers."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
