Also, Independence is actually kind of lame. Nothing really happened there. I'd rather not put places where something is supposed to happen in the future. I considered Adam-Ondi-Ahman and then left it off for that very reason.

I thought about adding Darrel K Royal Stadium
    Great choice.

    Edwards Stadium
    The MAC
    Royal Stadium.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Now you're just being stubborn about the Hill Cumorah. With the Moroni statue monument and pageant - it should be near the top of any Mormon sites list. Agree that Independence is kind of lame but some significant stuff happened there (it was the original Zion) and the CoC does have their temple. Totally agree that Adam-Ondi-Ahman is lame and does not merit any list. I left Winter Quarters off the list for the same reason but at least there's a pioneer cemetery and now a temple. Joseph Smith birthplace in Sharon, VT is another Mormon site of interest but doesn't make my top 7 wonders. The problem with your Top 7 is that CCC, SLC temple, and Tabernacle are all in close proximity - they really should be condensed to "Temple Square".

Adam-Ondi-Ahman may become a very popular place for mormons at some point. Not to mention you can check out Adam's altar.

The Mormon Battalion monument in NM is kind of a wonder. I wonder what the word scratched out on the inscription was. I am guessing "Redskins" or "Utes".

I was dragged have been to Adam-Ondi-Ahman a couple of times as a youth. I don't remember seeing Adam's altar. Maybe someone has built one since I last visited. But I don't remember anything being there. I do remember being reprimanded by a youth leader for pointing out the vast similarities between plowed fields at Adam-Ondi-Ahman and our Nebraska stake farm - the site of the previous youth activity.

I have not been to the Mormon Battalion monument in NM but have driven across northern New Mexico quite a lot. It's a lot like beautiful West Texas until one get a little farther north into Santa Fe.

If I were to make a list of 7 Ordinary Momon Places or 7 Mormon Places to Avoid then Adam-Ondi-Ahman and the NM Mormon Battalion monument would probably make such a list. So too would Winter Quarters in January when its -10 below zero (another site of a memorable youth activity).

It's not that great, but I do like the tortillas at the Mexican place in Old Town where they make them in the window while tourists watch.

Yeah, but to get there, you have to travel through part of town that is, according to GBH, "shabby." A prophet said it, so I believe it!

I threw out a sleeping bag in Adam-Ondi-Ahman one night on my way through Missouri on a road trip in college. I got kicked out by the grounds crew the next morning. I got a lot in common w Old Dad.

Having lived in the North Omaha branch that you travel through to get to the temple, I will say that President Hinckley was being kind with the word shabby.

Have you been lately? I have, and it has taken on a real Disney Haunter Mansion feel to it. The poor sister missionaries have to talk read a script featuring wise-cracking ghost paintings, play the spoons while dancing a jig, and generally invite the spirit to be present.

                              Definitely not Top 7.

The garden was not in AoA. Adam was kicked out of the garden and ended up in AoA. It wasn't until Noah built the ark that mankind left the USA to end up in the Old World.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
