BYU YSA ward callings

My son is a first year BYU student and he just got his calling(executive secretary) Do these wards operate just like other wards ? Are the callings more intense because it's BYU ? Any information on what my son can expect would be appreciated.

He'll be making phone calls and hanging around after church outside the bishops office.

He will know which girls to date based on how often they are asking to see the bishop. Which girls to avoid because they are never asking to see the bishop.

I just hope it doesn't take time away from school work. It would be humorous if he had to show up early on Sundays.
Our little ward in the south has that calling but the person rarely shows up. When he texted me last night he had no idea about the duties. Just a little over a week into his BYU experience he likes it though it has to be a somewhat of a shock to go from the only LDS male in his HS to Provo.

That will be much easier than watching what girls take the sacrament and what girls pass on it.

Exactly, plus he won't look like a creep. Calling and asking for a date after her 4th bishop meeting doesn't seem strange. "I noticed you haven't taken the sacrament lately, wanna drive up to Squaw Peak?" could be.

Not sure one would want to date someone who's going to confess to the Bishop after every date. That would likely result in the Bishop putting him on the interview list. Need to find out which girls should be talking to the Bishop but don't call the ex sec for an interview.
