  • Duck Beack 2014 ?

Any of you planning on making the trip this year ?
Sacrament will be held at the middle school gym again this year (we usually have about 900 or so on this weekend) The SP will be speaking with his wife. One of my favorite days of church every year. I think last year we had about 30 brothers passing trays and water. Good looking crowd, last year a college student showed up to play soccer at the middle school fields and came to the meeting because of all the pretty girls going in the gym. He couldn't believe it was a Mormon church service.

Do the girls wear bikinis to church?
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I watched that Duck Beach Singles Conference documentary someone made a while back and, while I'm sure there are some cute girls there, the whole thing just looks like a nightmare.

We have it down to a science pretty much. I have not seen the documentary(except the trailer) but the folks who show up from that group are great. We have parking lot attendants and everything to make it go pretty smooth. I have met some of the nicest folks you would hope to meet that I'm sure the documentary didn't choose to highlight. I've never had anyone that wasn't polite and reverent at the meeting. We have a number of BYU grads and parents of BYU students so as you guys know the LDS world is pretty small so it's pretty social. We also have quite a few families that are on vacation that show up every year. Our average attendance goes up to about 300 till after Labor Day but this is the only Sunday we move to the gym. I look forward to it every year.

Yeah, I was hoping to go this year, but my wife put the kabash on that. Maybe next year.

Is church at the beginning or end of the week?

If it's at the end of the week, how does anyone participate in the Sacrament?
