I saw "Because of Him" yesterday for the first time, as it came up a random pre-video commercial. I had to wait 5 seconds before I clicked out, but in those 5 seconds it drew me in, and by the end I felt the Spirit. Wow is all there is to say.

Neal A. Maxwell, Wherefore Ye Must Press Forward, pp. 132-3Even those who see life as pointless will one day point with adoration to the performance of the Man of Galilee in the crowded moments of time known as Gethsemane and Calvary. Those who now say life is meaningless will yet applaud the atonement, which saved us all from meaninglessness.
Christ’s victory over death routs the rationale that there is a general and irreversible human predicament; there are only personal predicaments, but even from these we can also be rescued by following the pathway of Him who rescued us from general extinction.
A disciple’s “brightness of hope,” therefore, means that at funerals his tears are not because of termination, but because of interruption and separation. Though just as wet, his tears are not of despair, but of appreciation and anticipation. Yes, for disciples, the closing of a grave is but the closing of a door that will later be flung open.
It is the Garden Tomb, not life, that is empty!“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”
― W.H. Auden
"God made the angels to show His splendour - as He made animals for innocence and plants for their simplicity. But men and women He made to serve Him wittily, in the tangle of their minds."
-- Robert Bolt, A Man for All Seasons
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
--Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Buona Pasqua!
Joyeuses Pâques!
Feliz Pascua!
Frohe Ostern!

Easter is my favorite holiday of the year. Hope everyone has a great day with their families and friends today!Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

you're a month late, dude. Aren't scientists supposed to know when the equinoctes occur?Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostHappy spring equinox, everbody.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Sooner, the concept of redemption and renewal is a healthy concept for people to embrace.

I agree. I just like to remind people of pagan origins from time to time.Originally posted by Topper View PostSooner, the concept of redemption and renewal is a healthy concept for people to embrace.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
