I would guess they'd only be pulled from Russia if there was unrest there. Of course Russia might expel American missionaries at some point if political tensions ratchet up far enough.

I see an article that says a handful of missionaries are coming home a few weeks early.

Cardiac, after reading your post I went back to the DN article and you are correct that some were sent home early. My son has taken Russian(along with German and French) in HS and will probably serve a mission after his first year at BYU and he has hoped to serve in Russia.

The Church also pulled them out of Crimea and other unsettled areas of Ukraine.
