Due to outright laziness and extreme introversion, I am a failure as a home teacher. I just don't like it. I have no desire to go to my neighbor's house and fake interest in the lady of the house's recent hysterectomy (or whatever might be happening). Am I going to hell?
Will my failure as a HT keep me out of the Celestial Kingdom?

Can you do other things, just to make sure the flock is being watched over? For example, just send an email or text every so often to make sure her basic needs are being met. If you don't do at least that you are almost the equivalent of a son of perdition.Originally posted by Bigfoot is Cain View PostDue to outright laziness and extreme introversion, I am a failure as a home teacher. It will likely have to take a number to many other more indefensible indiscretions. I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

At least you will get to see bigfoot. One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

I believe religion has much inherent good and has born many good fruits.

Update: the guilt from the peer pressure from the EQ president did not overwhelm my soul's desire to not go home teaching again this weekend. I wish that I had even a small amount of the arrogant extroversion of a sales rep so that I would be comfortable, and maybe even enjoy, going to my neighbor's home to BRT.
If I had a bit of salesman pomposity it would possibly improve my financial outlook as well.
