I wonder how much South Beach would cost.

I fully expect Cowboy and his wife to end up as missionaries down there are some point.

So much for the church being low on funds. Sounds like they are doing quite well.

That must be the religious side that relies on tithing dollars and helps the poor, the business side that buys land and malls must be loaded.

The business side is all dressed up with nowhere to go. Imagine being the CEO of AG,Reserves Inc. and making only 350K and year driving around in your Avalon to avoid the appearance of evil. I hope they pay the dudes on horseback well, because there's not a lot of room for corporate jets and fresh flowers everyday.

I was thinking the "Deseret Ranch" was the largest private land owner in Florida but it looks like they are currently #6...

With this purchase, however, it looks like they will be #1 (again?).

The stock market is up so I am guessing that '71 signed over some stock as a nice gift in kind.

hopefully he's not paying tithing on unrealized gains

How 71 pays on his "increase" is between him and the Lord.

If that is true maybe those leaders should be the ones speaking to us in general conference.

The Church is also the primary donor for the recently announced $100M expansion to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Well that may be one reason that Oaks' reply was so curt, he had pressing real estate deals to worry about. I wonder what percentage of the Q15's week is spent on the secular vs the spiritual side of the Church (and maye at that level they don't see a difference)?
