What metadata is the Church gathering?

Don't tell me that a hierarchy packed with suits and connections to the intelligence community isn't gathering metadata.

Metadata. Pioneer47 is a honeypot. They probably even have your CS password.

They track when you access CS from the church's WiFi using your smartphone. This is why I use a VPN and wear a tinfoil hat...

even though tinfoil hats have been proven somewhat ineffective.

Pioneer47 used to block Facebook. Now that the church has an official facebook site, I wonder if they will continue to block it.

In the database world we would not consider that metadata. You don't gather metadata, you gather data. If you perform analytics on that data, your findings would be considered metadata. When we typically refer to metadata, though, we're just referring to things like database schema, system tables, objects, views, etc.

SIEQ, are you really referring to Business Intelligence, such as predictive analytics?

I think this distinction the press is making of data vs metadata is kind of annoying to me. I think it's all data.

But it sounds better if the NSA and the Church is only gathering metadata and not "real" data. If it was real data then the sh*t would hit the fan.

That'd be sweet if they did and I could get coupons for tithing or home teaching.

They did in Omaha but they don't in Harlem.

I am sure that all those using LDSTools on their smart phones are totally screwed for metadata privacy.
