I'm no expert but would guess that the global economic crisis has hit Dubai even worse than Las Vegas and California.

I'm no expert but would guess that the global economic crisis has hit Dubai even worse than Las Vegas and California.

While I'm not a big fan of how Dubai has built its empire on the backs of expatriate slave labor, I will give them credit for being more progressive than most Arab Gulf states and for at least trying to diversify their economy so when the oil dries up they have something else to hang their hat on; unlike places like Saudi Arabia.
