Just how folks act and preach differently on Sunday than they do the rest of the week. I would be curious to see what would happen if a bunch of active members skipped church one Sunday and went golfing. Who would we see then?

That surely does happen, but I think it is rare. I think you will find Bishop's stepping out on their wives and preaching more often than some guy smoking a cigar on a golf course and preaching how great the WOW is in church. AS a matter of fact I will bet he doesn't have a TR and thinks the WOW is tradition not revelation.

The EQ that swears up a storm on the course. I will bet he never preaches against swearing and I will also bet he never was told part of his job requirement was he could never swear. The group out on the golf course know each other and what each of them do and some of them probably attend church together. Most golfers I know who have integrity aren't going to act one way on the course and preach against it in church. Oh, they also gamble.

I think members should be forced to go out and play golf with a large group of other members. You see everything. Guys smoking cigars to hold their nerves in check, a string of profanity from an Elders Quorum President and as he apologizes to a recently returned MP, the MP says "some things are allowed on a golf course". Of course you have the guys looking over at some guys shapely younger wife and then quickly look back saying, "we shouldn't do that". You have cheaters taken care of and by the way honesty is held in higher esteem on the course than in a TR interview.

All that going on and yet no one is discussing why anyone is a lesser mormon than another.

I like your analogy. I don't know much your Church standing, but I'm guessing that on the course you don't lift, clean and place in July and you putt-out whether you're inside the leather or not. That I respect...Sunday School attendance not so much.

I like to think of people posting in these fora as pressure cookers. What you see in a message board community is quite often the "steam." However, just because you see steam coming out of a pressure cooker doesn't necessarily (and rarely) means all that is inside the pressure cooker is steam/water. Often times, there is some wonderful stuff on the inside of the pressure cooker. Far more than just the steam you see coming out of them.
