my condolences to the Monson family.
Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia
God forgives many things for an act of mercy

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

It would be nice to have her resume when arriving at the pearly gates. I am sure this is going to be tough for President Monson, even with his faith in the hereafter.

85 is a full life, but I would struggle to see it that way if my wife died before I did. I hope the next few days aren't too much for him.

Who had her on their death watch list?

Very sad. I too couldn't imagine losing my wife, regardless of age or level of faith.

I remember when sister Hinckly died thinking that it was the first time where I saw President Hinckly as vulnerable. In those moments, people just seem to lose themselves. Not something I look forward to if I am fortunate enough to live a long life.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Sad to hear about this. It will be interesting to see what happens with Pres. Monson in the near future...so many elderly people don't hang on real long after they lose a spouse, and it seems like rumors about a downturn in his health have become more frequent over the past several months.

Very sad. I've always hoped MJ and I would go on the same day. I'll admit I'm actually looking forward to his talk next conference as I can only imagine it will be an upbeat talk like it usually is.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Seems like the apostles have a higher rate of widowerhood than widowhood. SWK was last prophet to predecease wife. Some left widows who were 2nd wives. Ruth died months after Jim and Ruby months after Dave did. Colleen Maxwell is still alive. Joseph outlived his wife the last Joseph that was an apostle. Ones who died before there wives and wives were widows for some time Norma Ashton, Howards 2nd wife Inis, lived some time after Howard died. Amelia McConkie and Alicia Evans were apostle widows for some time.

David o Mckay died a few months before his wife did. JFS buried three wives. Heber J. Grant left one of his polygamous wives behind. Before Manifesto married three wives. Rest were polygamous after Joseph. Four of our apostles buried wives that are living today. I didn't think Frances had best health recently and Ann traveled with Tom quite frequently. Reunion on other side but hard to lose someone you lived with for that long.

Why don't you run some numbers and simulations and keep me posted on when you think it'll happen.

Since you already spend hours of your employers hours per week posting on multiple websites I'm sure a couple more minutes spent on my life expectancy wouldn't hurt.
