  • The Meridian Idaho Mosque/Lodge

This thing looks a lot like a Masonic Lodge I once saw. I think it also looks a lot like a mosque. I'm not saying that either is good or bad. I'm just saying.

The design does nothing for me, but it's at least better than the square/boxy temples that were the rage in the 1990s (Mt Timp, bountiful, Wint Quarters, etc.).
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I am just glad to see them shaking things up again. For a while there they all looked the same.

It is a Masonic Lodge, after the order of Mormon Masonry.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

Agreed. Let's have more variety. In temples. I like everything else being the same.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I really hated the pup-tent era 1980s temples - Dallas, Chicago & Boise. Like a lot of things from the 80s those are best forgotten. The only design worse was the Provo/Ogden misfires. My two favorites are the good old SLC and the DC temples.

I'm still a little shocked they need two temples in that area.

It's pretty much common consented that the Portland Temple is the most beautiful.
