Let's not kid ourselves, the young ladies presenting the pouty, posed, arched-back pictures are doing it because they want to attract the sexual attention of others, not because they desire someone to experience their other talents and gifts (ultimately I guess they want the latter, but think they can only get through the former--how sad). The advice is don't sell yourselves or those whose attention you seem to be so desperately seeking, short. You're worth more than that. But if you're going to continue to do it, I'm going to have to block you, because we get enough of this outside our home.
That's where we need to treat this with a little nuance. Go back to the original Nate Pyle essay:

There are two views regarding a woman’s dress code that you will be pressured to buy into. One view will say that women need to dress to get the attention of men. The other view will say women need to dress to protect men from themselves. Son, you are better than both of these. A woman, or any human being, should not have to dress to get your attention. You should give them the full attention they deserve simply because they are a fellow human being. On the other side, a woman should not have to feel like she needs to protect you from you. You need to be in control of you.
Sure, let's teach our YW that they don't need to dress immodestly to be attractive. But let's please stop teaching them that they are responsible for the YM.

This is a few weeks old, but I found it to be well written with good perspective that might find solid middle ground to most of the discussion here.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with that. It's nice, though, if we all try to help each other out.

Besides, I didn't see that second message in the woman's facebook (?) post. I read her saying that if you present yourself sexually, you will be viewed sexually, and I believe you are more than that, so please stop. I think that's a good message.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

One of those "10 things I want to tell my daughter" things on Facebook (coming from a woman):

            1. If you choose to wear shirts that show off your boobs, you will attract boys. To be more specific, you will attract the kind of boys
that like to look down girls’ shirts. If you want to date a guy who likes to look at other girls’ boobs and chase skirts, then great job; keep it up. If you don’t want to date a guy who ogles at the breasts of other women, then maybe you should stop offering your own breasts up for the ogling. All attention is not equal. You think you want attention, but you don’t. You want respect. All attention is not equal.

Why does she want her daughter to date gay men?

In Portland, you can see prostitutes on MLK, all fancied up and doing business. 20 years ago you could tell they were prostitutes from a block away. Now you can't tell if it's a prostitute or Reverend Johnson's daughter. In response to that, the prostitutes have stepped up their game and now are wearing fishnet, leaving nothing to the imagination. I imagine if the trend continues another 20 years, I'm you're not going to be able to find a prostitute at all.

Whatever. Just make sure you look 'em straight in the eye if you're talking to them.

Hmm... So according to Clack, all of the women in Portland dress like hookers. Even the religious women.

                          Yeah, that's believable.

She's dead on that mrs hall's response is borne of fear. I can understand it--she's playing momma bear to her sons. She doesn't deserve to take any heat for that. Heaven knows we need more parents to care more about their kids. But she shouldn't be glorified either.

Her poor kids. I'm pretty sure they wish mom had kept this to herself.
