You can bet the farm on this. We had stake conf a few weeks ago and our visiting GA called it both a miracle and a revelation countless times. And here I thought it was a policy change."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I'm always wishing for this at about 3:00 every Sunday.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostTwo hour Church block:
Sacrament: 50 minutes
SS: 35 minutes
PH/RS: 35 minutes
Think how much the Church would save on building costs with that change -- they wouldn't have to build any more chapels for years. Not that, sickos.

Rotate weeks between PH/RS and SS. Primary every week. 5th Sunday is a potluck.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostTwo hour Church block:

I'm guessing Pres. Eyring gets a little teary-eyed too. I love it when he starts to make some routine hand gesture--pointing his finger for emphasis or something--but the words come about three seconds later because he gets all choked up. I really love Eyring but I find myself thinking, "geez, is he like this every day?"Originally posted by clackamascoug View Post- Richard G. Scott will pause and wipe a tear. Makes me wonder if we should play "guess the current number of full time missionaries"? My guess is 62,000 and Facebook will light up like crazy over the miraculous increase.Originally posted by Harry Tic View PostThe policy change re: mission age is referred to as a "miracle" by no fewer than four different speakers.
It is referred to as evidence of continuing revelation by more than one speaker, including one member of the 70 that no one has ever heard of before."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

We were discussing this with some people and I opined that our leaders had finally seen they had been using only 50% of their potential missionary force, and had made corrections. mrs. myboynoah was not happy with me. Dang, I love her.Originally posted by Harry Tic View PostThe policy change re: mission age is referred to as a "miracle" by no fewer than four different speakers.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yeah that makes more sense. Seems like cutting to 2 hrs would be such a smart move for Church spending and honestly seems like it would also get a few more people out to church in my neighborhood who just don't have the attention span for the entire 3 hrs.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostRotate weeks between PH/RS and SS. While I agree with you 100%, I'm inclined to think that those that make the decisions are probably closer to making a 4 hour block instead of a 2 hour.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostYeah that makes more sense. I've heard that it is quite possible that he won't speak due to health reasons...that should make some folks happy.Originally posted by Pheidippides View PostLet's get this party started. My wife and I discussed this morning and have the following prognostications:
- Two women will pray to the fanfare of progressive mormons everywhere.
- These same ProgMos will record the session and fast forward through all the women speakers.
- This will result in a lack of anger when the women give talks about women's roles and how everything about being a woman in the church is hunky-dory.
- Even money on BKP coming down hard on women's roles and/or gay marriage. Slightly lower odds of a redacted or changed written version of the talk and/or damage control by the church PR office.
- Porn once again is absent from Priesthood Session except in oblique references.
- New temples announced in two African countries, two in the Rockies, three in S. America, none in Europe.
- Moliere has to be physically dragged from the TV set during the auditor's report.
- President Monson shares no fewer than four stories I've heard before.
- DFU has only one reference to being a pilot."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

He has looked more and more frail over the past couple of years.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostI've heard that it is quite possible that he won't speak due to health reasons...that should make some folks happy.
I've heard (here?) that TSM is in some stage of dementia; is it only a matter of time until DFU/HBE are running the show completely?Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.
