  • This is the most lifeless version of "Ye Elders of Israel" I have ever heard. I may use it next time I need to put the baby to sleep.

It's when a non-married penis and vagina contact each other that physical chastity/virtue is lost, regardless of circumstances?

          Religion can be so confusing...
The english language can be confusing. There are many words in the english language that have different meanings. "Virtue" is one of them. Usually, the context in which they are used telegraphs the meaning of such words. I didn't find anything Elder Bednar said confusing at all. Maybe you just need to get a dictionary. On the other hand, it seems that you are just nitpicking because of your belief that sexual sin is not serious, which is contradicted by everything the church has taught for at least the last century.

Regarding Mormon doctrine, there is nothing here that is uncomplicated.

It would be a wonderful tipping point.

Hear! Hear! And do you think that's even remotely an accurate view of what his father actually sketched? Where is the historical accuracy? Oh the humanity!

I apologize, but t's been so long since I've been here (I didn't even know the name had changed--are there still Utes here?), I can't keep track of all the milquetoast Mormon monikers. Are you the guy who always talks about masturbation, or the guy who has all the made-up stories?

It sure would be fun to watch people like you freak out if that were to happen.

                    • Our stake av guy , who happens to be about 90 years old, ran into some trouble and couldn't get the satellite feed for the ph meeting. He asked for tech help from the crowd.

A few minutes later there were about 12 guys trying to figure out what was wrong. Then, in strolls the high councillor over facilities, wearing his blue jeans and tee shirt, looking an awful lot like he had just finished mowing the lawn before getting the distress signal from someone at the church.

He hooks up a laptop and finds an Internet feed to the broadcast. He finally gets it to go live within a minute of the finish of the Louisville / Wichita st game.

God apparently wanted me to follow the game on game tracker to completion before turning my attention to conference.

I understand, and to some extent sympathize, with the concern. But I suspect that even if it does happen, he'll mellow. It's a lot easier to lob hand grenades from the back of the room than it is to lead from the front.

That was quite the moment. But that was an awesome talk. Sometimes I listen to the Priesthood talks and wonder why I even bother. Then Uchtdorf makes me remember why I'm a Mormon.

If we did it Catholic style I would like to see Uchtdorf rise to the top after TSM.

That reminds me of Tad Callister's point about how leaders in priesthood quorums are not selected based on seniority but rather are chosen by inspiration. It makes you wonder if he contemplated what his argument implies re: the Q12 and the calling of a new church president.
