  • The Official April 2013 General Conference Thread

So will the church spend much time talking on homosexuality or gay marriage? With church membership becoming more and more sharply divided on the issue will we see more blunt language used or will it be more of the flaccid soft-pedaling we've seen recently that seems to have the net effect of further confusing the membership about these issues?

Will any temples be announced? maybe. I doubt we will here how worthless some husband is though we have in past and though we have been told umpteen times not to write to church headquarters. Our problem isn't the only problem that matters to the brethren. Hear who died that was ga or wife of ga. No first quorum members passed away since last conference. A few wives and widows did.

Will they taper off on first quorum members or max the quorum out this time? Only need I think 11 to max it out. Were will the ga's be from too that they call? Since the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance he will never allow same gender marriage or sex outside marriage. Will be blunt even if like in Jesus's day hard doctrines ridded disciples will do it again.

I'm expecting several talks stating the roles of men and women in church, family, and life in general. This, of course, would be in answer/retaliation to the whole women roles movement thing going on.

Oh, heavens. It kills me, but I'm sure you're right.

I predict a woman will give a prayer.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

            I think they'll ignore it.

              I predict:

              A story about airplanes
              A story about camping
A story about a car drive
              A story about a child
              A story about a grandchild
A story about a trip to a poor country in Africa or Asia
A story about a family dinner
A story about a sporting event

Welcome Aggie. We are short on USU fans here. Stick around.

No doubt. Fans of the Ol Ag college appreciate fine ice cream, increase our male camel toe coefficient and also provide us 10 digit grid coordinates of Dave Rose during the summer time and can put us all on double secret probation if he breaks their restraining order by coming within 10,000 leagues of the Provo MTC.

The only of those we currently have is SeattleUte helping with our Male Camel Toe coefficient. Somewhere "Air Supply" is wafting over the airwaves.........

My prediction: nothing like this from the FP or Q12 (an outside chance of one the new guys doing this, though--maybe Cook, maybe Anderson). Two new-ish 70s you've never heard of before will do this though. One of them will speak with an accent. They will both name-check BKP. One will be sweating noticeably.
