    How Russians perceive mormon.org

A Russian dude was asking me about Mormons the other day, so I sent him a link to http://www.mormon.org/

His response was: "What the hell kind of pioneer web site is that?"

Of course, he was using the word pioneer in reference to the Soviet scouting program (the pioneers) in which children were propagandized, indoctrinated, brainwashed, and so forth. I thought that it was pretty funny that he immediately recognized the similarities.

Sometimes I wonder whether Mormonism has already hit its peak growth rate and might someday become a thing of the past. But I'm inclined to think that Mormonism will evolve just fast enough to survive.

This is terrible. More and more people are figuring out what Scouting is really all about.

I love that song "Poost Vsyegda boodyet solntse" -- I learned it on the mission and then sang it with the Russian Choir at BYU.

The great thing about Mormonism is that it is supposed to evolve -- God will yet reveal many great and wonderful things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

It's pure genius I tell you, pure genius.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
