It is such a bad and ineffective piece of work (regardless of what one thinks of the content or message -- whatever the message was supposed to be) that I really wonder how it ever got posted in the first place. It is possible that someone with some creative sense had something to say about getting it pulled.

    • Not sure if we have a Mormons and Transsexuals thread, so I'll just post this here. Interesting stuff.

Totally awesome article. We truly are a peculiar people.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. A friend of mine is bishop of that ward. It went really well.

The recent outreach effort to Mormon gays and lesbians in one Seattle LDS congregation was a "tremendous success," with attendance swelling to three times the usual number, according to participants.

The overwhelming turnout for the Oct. 19 meeting at the Washington Park LDS Ward was the result of a widely distributed letter from that congregation’s bishopric, inviting less-active members to come to the special service.
Aaron Brown, who serves on the LDS stake (regional) high council in the area and was instrumental in organizing the meeting, deemed it "simply stellar. A home run from start to finish, featuring talks by [Bennion], the bishop and a lesbian member of the stake."

All three sermons were "superb," Brown wrote in an email, but the latter member’s talk "was truly the highlight."

That's awesome. Aaron Brown who is the high councilman was one of the guys that started the By Commom Consent blog. You have to stay in the Church to make it better.

Bull shit. An exodus is what prompts change. Staying in church doesn't harm their numbers. It's about numbers and $$ to them.

While yours is perhaps technically correct, I believe the widely accepted spelling is bullshit. This is perhaps my favorite expletive, though as a worker of livestock I have many in my vocabulary. Still, I've often wondered at it's origin, as cows produce just as much manure as bulls, and there is really no difference in content or texture.

Bullshit just sounds tougher than cowshit. I actually like Horse Shit, with an intentional separation of the words when spoken.
