I'm the oldest guy in EQ now. Is it time to ask for a bump up or should I stay and share all of my wisdom with the young guys?

Do you enjoy your association with 'the young guys' or, do you hang out with, and feel more affinity towards the hp?
Whatever the answer is to that question...I'd go with.
You don't even need to be a hp to attend it...just talk to the bish and go if that is where all your friends are."Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."
Hmm... Good motivation for me to remain active I guess.

If I were you, I'd volunteer for primary.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI'm the oldest guy in EQ now. I think that's a no go for him though...since he volunteered for YW...he has no more cred with the bishopric."Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."

My biking buddies are in the EQ but my golfing buddies are in the HP so I'm torn. My third option is to tell both quorums I'm attending the other one and just go home early.Originally posted by The Borg View PostDo you enjoy your association with 'the young guys' or, do you hang out with, and feel more affinity towards the hp?

Take the Bronco Mendenhall approach and make both groups actively recruit you.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostMy biking buddies are in the EQ but my golfing buddies are in the HP so I'm torn. I found the HP lessons to be vastly superior to the EQ lessons in our ward. I don't care that I am the youngest one."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

This is what may eventually push me over the edge. Our lessons in EQ are just brutal. I get much more out of this forum then I do those lessons.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI found the HP lessons to be vastly superior to the EQ lessons in our ward. Let me guess:Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostThis is what may eventually push me over the edge. Our lessons in EQ are just brutal. I get much more out of this forum then I do those lessons.
EQP: "Uh.... Who has the lesson today? Nobody? OK, everybody open your manual to page 45. Can somebody read the first page?"
(somebody reads it)
EQP: "OK, what do you think about that? Any comments?""There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

You got it. I would like to see them open up the discussion a little and mix in some current stuff.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLet me guess:

Last week, the EQP taught our lesson for Fast Sunday. His intro: "I don't believe in lesson prep because I think we should follow the Spirit in class."Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostLet me guess:

The entire lesson was a series of awkward silence and non-responses to inane questions like, "can anyone here share a personal story that relates to what we just read?" or "does anyone have any thoughts on that scripture?"Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Ding ding ding! That's a winner in my book! Too funny. Let's just see you successfully pull it off. Oh...and when you do...please fill the rest of us in on how it's done!Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostMy biking buddies are in the EQ but my golfing buddies are in the HP so I'm torn.
