Interesting thing on lenght of service of some area seventies.

Thing is on Area Seventy at present seems like protocol that if you are not calles as GA MP or Temple President than 5 years from your call you are released in May. Don't know of anyone serving less time for any other reason than 5 years.

But brings me to another point. The Area Seventy from China, the one from Indonesia, John Huntsman, Ralph Hardy, and J Willard Marriiott JR. have been serving for many many years.

I wonder if in a country with sparse population of church members or a person of prominence rather than the standard 5 years they will keep someone as an area seventy indefintly or for many years.

Wikipedia has a table and some people served many years as ARea Seventies. Just seems like some in sparse lds centers or in prominence serve a longer time. BYUI President I wonder if that too could be indefinite caling as Area Seventy.,

The Wikipedia entry mentions the range of service is 6 to 10 years. I'm not sure location has anything to do with length as one Area Seventy recently released from Utah had 8 years.
