    Rinehart not naked with women

This must be doing wonders for his career.

They asked the wrong question, I suspect. They should have asked if he's been naked with the same sex.

Why? Do you have personal knowledge of his being naked with men?

He's running for a House seat in Utah, apparently because the Utah Legislature isn't conservative enough. It seems that they have been far too soft on the gays and Mexicans and are a bunch of tree-hugging environmentalists. I know that "not conservative enough" is the first thing that pops in my head when someone mentions the Utah State Legislature.

No but that would have been my follow up question had I done the interview. Seems like an obvious follow up.

He thinks Energy Solutions is run by New Yorkers. Hilarious.

Utah is not as conservative as most voters would have you believe.**There are*problems facing Utah which*have been caused by our legislature's failure in some regards*to adhere to conservative principles. Although Utah has a reliable conservative voting record in national races, we have*some remarkably liberal laws at the state level. *Many out-of-state businesses are reluctant to relocate to Utah due to its fifth highest taxes in the country. Property taxes are on the rise, and Utah has the*softest laws on*illegal aliens in the country. Utah recently enacted a hate crimes bill ad the behedst of the homosexual lobby, wasted a billion dollar surplus, and elected a governor who, while a good man,*sought to established global warming pacts with California, supported gay civil unions, and gave away soccer stadiums. The only distinction between Republicans and Democrats is the set if conservative principles that we claim to cherish. It has never been more important for us to vote for Republicans who believe in those principles, rather than*candidates who have proven they are nice guys/gals, but who*will vote with the Democrats 50% of the time.

Aren't you in Chicago? Hasn't any of that rubbed off on you?

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

That was a copy paste job. But no, chicago's made me much worse. I've seen the alternative to conservatives being in total control, and believe me, Utah is in much better shape than Illinois.

Sure, if you're a straight white guy.

If single members loosened up and let it fly, perhaps things would get better. Or maybe not.

Rinehart, who has readily confessed his sins to his bishops and has at times been temporarily barred from receiving sacrament as a result, admits that he has gone "a little too far." In the heat of the moment, he has crossed the line of "passionate kissing." He has touched women through their clothing and let them do the same to him, but he has never been naked with the opposite sex. Once, on a vacation with a girlfriend, he rented a hotel with two beds to avoid any temptation. "That's even a little risky for some Mormons," he says.

It seems a little strange to me that someone over 21 would ever go into a bishop to confess to touching fully clothed boobs or any other part for that matter.

The LDS Church is strange in regards to sexuality. Grown men speak about what they do in the bedroom to CEO's, who have no special expertise in matters of intimacy and members lose all privileges for intimacy.

Intimacy is not to be discussed unless of course you violate the rules in which case it is to be discussed with somebody unqualified to discuss it.

                            My thoughts after reading this:

                            1. Holy cow am I glad I'm married and not dealing with this nonsense anymore. I fortunately never had to go to one of those 31-45 year old wards.

                            2. I think after a certain age you're much better off outside of Provo and I think that age is 25. After 27, you need to get out of Utah altogether. If you don't get married young in Provo, your chances at finding start dropping.

                            3. This guy needs to look at the divorced women first. If these girls are in their early 30s in our culture and never been married, then they either have commitment problems or they're impossibly picky/judgmental.

                            4. I had a conversation with my mom when I was 28 and still single where I told her I was just going to start dating whoever I wanted regardless of religion. Why would I date someone with rather large deficiencies just because they were LDS? Wouldn't I be better off with dating the best possible girl I could find regardless of faith? Literally the next week, I met my wife and she was the best possible girl for me and, luckily, she happened to be LDS. I still would have gone outside the fold if I hadn't met my wife.

                            5. The pressure that builds with LDS singles of this age to get married probably greatly inhibits any chance they have to build relationships.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
