I don't know your ex's circumstance or situation but I don't see that as an unreasonable period of time. Clearly, the bishop needs to make a judgment call based on spiritual maturity and how well an individual understand the covenants they made. I imagine 6 months is probably a common period.

Maybe, I don't know one way or the other, but it seemed awfully dismissive, like a little slap on the wrist. The few cases I know about that are similar ended with excommunication or much longer periods of discipline.Originally posted by Scorcho View PostI don't know your ex's circumstance or situation but I don't see that as an unreasonable period of time. In TR interviews I have given, I've had people from both parties answer with that joke. "You mean, am I a [Democrat/Republican]?" It always makes me laugh.Originally posted by bluegoose View PostWith this thread in mind, I asked my interviewer what his thought was on that question during my TR interview yesterday.

I figure this fits here as well as anywhere else:
MormonThink editor being disciplined for articles written about relationship between Romney, the temple, and the Church: The Daily Beast
A Mormon in good standing, Twede has never been disciplined by Latter Day Saints leadership. But it now appears his days as a Mormon may be numbered because of a series of articles he wrote this past week that were critical of Mitt Romney.
On Sunday, Twede says his bishop, stake president, and two church executives brought him into Florida Mormon church offices in Orlando and interrogated him for nearly an hour about his writings, telling him, "Cease and desist, Brother Twede."
Mormon leaders have scheduled an excommunication "for apostasy" on Sept. 30. A spokesman for the church told The Daily Beast that the church would not be commenting for this story."Friendship is the grand fundamental principle of Mormonism" - Joseph Smith Jr.

I think the heading and subtitle are very misleading. If they're accurate, I'll await news of Harry Reid's disciplinary hearing.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostI figure this fits here as well as anywhere else:

Gotta love the implication that he's being disciplined because he's critical of Romney.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostI figure this fits here as well as anywhere else:
