So, mostly because the entire line from Carrie Jenkins in the various statements is pure, refined, crystalline and smokable bullshit, I'm happy to see somebody going after the administration on this. I bet caffeinated drinks sell like hotcakes at any store close to the Y. I always thought it would be a good idea to open up a soda shop right off BYU campus. Kind of like a smoke shop, your standard beverage fare, the harder energy drinks, plus more exotic hard to get stuff from all over the world. Perfect for the annoying RM who can't stop talking about some great soda in Belize.

Some of the quotes in that article prove the stupidity of Mormons when it comes to the word of wisdom. That the director of dining services would get emails by students on both sides of the issue and that the student who started the fb page would get calls from fellow students saying that he was disloyal and disobedient is just flat out ridiculous. When my kids used to lie badly to me, I would tell them that if they were going to lie at least respect me enough to come up with a good lie. I'm proud to say that now when my kids lie to me, they do it gloriously. I don't mind so much that Carrie Jenkins lied, but it bothers me that it was such a lazy lie.

While a caffeine consumer I fully support BYU's stand on no caffeine.

BYU has a responsibility to those who choose to live the higher law. They relent on caffeine, what is next, allowing facial hair? How do you ask those who are called to positions of authority in a ward or stake not to have facial hair if the flagship representing our values relents.
