  • Calling of sp

There was an article in dnews about it the other day and how a ga and AS goes to Stake Conference to decide who the Lord wants to preside. I know of cases were because of transgression he had to be released. Does the Lord put people in that stake on trial then. Or if he moves or dies before tenure.

Most are humble and dedicated men. But when one goes astray what happens to the congregation then? It survives. Some people wonder. I know several people in that position good people who did not seek it. Miracle is a GA does not know them but knows the Lord want them to preside over the stake. Most after tenure go back to there ward callings and serve faithfully there. Get status in GD classes sometimes too do to calling. What about when he chooses one that dies too soon. Lord chooses them and nows what will happen in there future.

The SP just prior to my dad was ex'd for infidelity. My dad was stake executive secretary at the time and was made the new SP. However, in contrast, when my dad was released they asked who he would recommend to replace him, and voila! that guy was the next SP. I tend to think the second way is more common, but in cases where the SP is ex'd, disfellowshipped, etc... things continue on.
Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats.
