How religious are you compared to your parents at your age?

Interesting and relavent anecdote: My grandmother was RS President, RS teacher, etc., for the better part of 60 years. But when I stayed with her we would only attend church for the hour which she taught. I don't recall ever attending sacrament meeting with my grandparents, only Priesthood or Sunday School.

One of the last time I saw her before she passed away she said, "I don't understand why my daughters became so churchy!" (Both are ultra-turbo-TBM members, while my Dad is extremely active former bishop and my uncle left the church in the 90s).

Perhaps church activity is cyclical across generations? My grandparents, who experienced the Great Depression and WWII, were all somewhat less religious on a personal level than are my parents and their siblings who lived significantly easier lives.

My family is not religious in the slightest.

I left SoCal to attend BYU. I left college to serve a mission. I married when I was in my mid twenties. I attend Church weekly. I do "Home Visits" to other families in the ward. I wear garments. I donate 10% of my income to the Church. I don't drink at tailgates or dinners.

How religious am I compared to them? They all think I am St. Francis of Assisi incarnate. That should give everyone here some context for the religiosity of my family.

They were better conventional Mormons. In some ways I'm more religious, though.

The poll doesn't work for me.

I think this is not necessarily unusual. Many Americans, especially genexers, are losing faith in organized religion, while not necessarily losing an appreciation for the msyterious or a zeal for service.

I've expressed that America is better than ever. This is one reason why.

I know what we typically associate with "religiosity" but is that really religious? We all know church attenders who attend regularly and faithfully, but who don't seem to imbue their nature with any sense of morality in respect to fellow humans.
