    Church attendance

racing mind syndrome, does anybody else experience this?

Sometimes sitting in an LDS church, or any other church, as given certain relations, I attend where others are going, the mind races ahead, finishing the thought processes, wishing the speaker would complete the thought in expeditious manner. Meantime, three work projects are processed, letters to family members and wondering why the password to the local church ward wireless doesn't work, all the while waiting for the unfortunate speaker to address the issue with the alacrity of the Dark Knight and the clarity of Bane.

Naturally, it would be uncouth to bring this up to a pastor or lay speaker, but the words of Mark Twain ring as true today as when they were first spoken,

I once heard a preacher who was powerful good. I decided to give him every cent I had with me. But he kept it too long. Ten minutes later I decided to keep the bills and five him my loose change. Another ten minutes and I was darned if I’d give him anything at all. Then, when he finally stopped, and the plate came around, I was so exhausted, I stole two dollars from the plate in sheer spite. It all goes to show how a little thing like this can lead to a crime
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I remember you when you first came to this board. You were incredibly ignorant of lds practices. Now you know a ward building has a wireless Internet password. Seems like quite the change in such little time.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Don't you immediately request the wireless internet password upon entering the sanctuary? Isn't that standard protocol? One should never go anywhere without one's wireless devices. How else is one to keep abreast of Tiger's success, the Tour or future Olympics?

It is the same password for every building and is available on the church website.

Why is the bandwith so small? It seems slow to access internet.

Not sure but it could have something to do with so many people working off one router. Your ward might be extra boring

Because it's not the church's intent to support a large number of people accessing their wireless network.

It's not? How else are people to be entertained during Church?

If you're looking for entertainment, start crashing funerals.

Yes. I understand that deaf people find it particularly burdensome to watch hearing speakers because ASL apparently gets to the point faster and with less euphemism than standard English.

Some days your crankiness reaches new heights or depths. My recent funeral visit was for a dear relative, so thank you for reminding me of the pain.
