I guess as far as the sin category goes, it falls under chastity?

Its still there, you just have to be logged in and a donor to see it.

Lady member plans to go strip dancing to pay her mortgage.
My sister in law in Montana is asking for advice. It's her friend who is the dancer. The branch president said he wouldn't help pay her mortgage. She says she will plan to repent on Sunday when she takes the sacrament.

If you were her friend, what advice would you give, if any?

There isn't a huge market for it, but some people will pay good money to see a lady member.

          Ha HA

Difference between Church assistance and Welfare. Church gives you three months to get your act together and then cut you off. Church does not make it easy either.
( FYI I most likely wrote that incoherently and will be properly corrected forthwith. Thanks)

I've known a few women that felt this was their only option. Frankly I'm not sure what to tell them. As for me I try not to judge them harshly.

Ah, that's the issue then. I'm not lining that guy's pockets.

Would you consider lining this poor sister's g-string?

I've met plenty of dancers and they aren't the sad lot they are stereotyped as. Some love it, some hate it but feel trapped. But, I'm just an amoral, godless heathen. I have to think that if she is considering this avenue, there is more to the story. A lot of women in dire straights don't even consider peeling, so either she's intrigued by it and has been for sometime, or there is something else.

                      I don't think that's really a rule...

This is an inaccurate statement. But the church will usually not pay a mortgage. it will pay rent and other expenses, however.
                        PLesa excuse the tpyos.

So is this simply a semantics issue or is there a dollar limit that bishops have? If I am renting a house then the payment is probably close to the same about as a mortgage.

I think the mortgage thing is a problem because often people who need help making their mortgage payments have 5000 sq. ft. homes and are way over extended. I imagine the church wouldn't have a problem paying your mortgage if it were $1000 a month for a 1400 sq. ft. home and you had just lost your job.

I assumed that it was more of a dollar amount thing than simply a no mortgage rule. And as always, up to the discretion of the bishop and/or stake president.
