Sunstone gets props in Washington Times

Only 2500 subscribers? That's too bad because every issue has at least a few excellent and/or entertaining articles.

Dialogue is another great one, and has even fewer subscriptions. My dad brings Sunstone to church, and it totally embarrasses my mom. I think it's great.

Bear in mind, the Washington Times is owned by a rival of Mormonism, the Unification Church. In 2002, during the 20th anniversary party for the Times, Reverand Sun Myung Moon said, "The Washington Times will become the instrument in spreading the truth about God to the world." So it's not surprising they are plugging Sunstone.

There's a guy in our ward who brings Dialogue to church occasionally -- one time after Sacrament Meeting I asked him if he could direct me to Gospel Doctrine - Dialogue Edition.

They're trying to portray Mormons as normal people who don't mindlessly believe everything their leaders tell them?

That seems like poor strategy to me. They need to expand their coverage of guys like Chris Buttars and his "Gays greatest threat to America" shtick if they want to hurt Mormons.

you're missing the subtlety of the UC's strategy. Highlight the normalcy and indepemdece of a dissident think tank within Mormonism with a tiny following and thereby highlight the unreasonableness and zombielike ethos of the vasat majority.
