  • Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I love this message and how it has driven you to action and brought about the forgotten families and children. This tends to be forgotten. I love the message of compassion and love we must have for those refugees..

I just wished you didn't make it political..

What made me ill is the evil in the world that we do not see nor ever impacts my life in such a way.. How I never express gratefulness nor sorrow to those that are inflicted. How I can go about my day and never think of these innocent t families, Mothers, Fathers, teenagers, children... and infants.

I feel ill that this happens and the world is Blind to it.. That I can be blind to it..

      • Powerful message of the loss of a loved one from drug addiction. I can relate as my brother struggles with drug addiction. I remember as a senior in HS my Dad waking me up at midnight on a school night asking me to come with him to head down to Phoenix to pick my brother up. We found him at a gas station strung out.. I drove his car while he went with my Dad. While he did not lose his life he was close to death.

My resentment of the pain he put my Dad and Mom through was hard to overcome. Still is.. but he is my brother and I love him. Just glad he has been able to overcome. It took over a decade of relapsing but it is a long road that never ends..

I find the GC talk and release of this very timely. I hope U.S. Mormons are listening.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The Newtown mass shooting affected me more deeply than any other. This video brought back a flood of the awful emotions I felt then. Still, even the faithless have to admire, perhaps even envy, the strength of this couple. I doubt I'd handle it so well. I'm thankful I've never had to try.

              • My brother sent me this message late last night. I have not lived in Utah for over 20 years but those who remained are bonded to the wrestling community there.

This message from Ben Khjar is truly inspiring. He is such a good dude.

                • My twitter feed has been full of people sharing their conversion stories and experiences of returning to the church after inactivity. It’s pretty great. This one was particularly moving.

                    • While my daughter was on a mission, she would have us watch the “Why I believe” fireside every fast Sunday. They were conversion stories of new members. There were some really moving ones. I know several missions do these. I have watched the one from the Canada Calgary mission and the one NHL member.

edit: here is the Derek Ryan video
