Quite the commentary on society.Originally posted by RobinFinderson View PostI had forgotten that today was Easter until last night, when I noticed the Easter vendors were out in force in South Central. So I conducted a little experiment with Little Robin. We had the following conversation:
RF: What is special about today?
LR: It is the 8th?
RF: That isn't what I am thinking about.
LR: It is the last day of Spring break?
RF: True, but not what I am thinking about.
LR: I don't know.
RF: It is Easter.
LR: Oh.... will you buy me some candy?
RF: No.

Joyeux Pâcques!
Le Christ est ressuscité!"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. Though I don't always love church and often encourage my kids whining about going, I was happy that this morning there was no negativity about going. Everyone was happy and there were no tears or yelling leading up to church.
We even got to sit in the foyer! I hope everyone else is having as enjoyable of Easter as I am.Get confident, stupid

That's an ok video. It seemed a little disjointed. For me, The Lamb of God has a better Easter message. I kinda felt bad that we weren't doing ANYTHING for Easter, so I had Faith sneak out to CVS and put together an Easter basket. Then we went out to 800 Degrees Pizza in Westwood to celebrate Easter and the fact that I finished our taxes this morning. While munching the delicious bacon-topped pie I asked Little Robin, "Are you kind of sad that you don't get Easter candy?" He responded, "Hmmm.... let's see here... one day of Easter candy traded for 50 or more days of church. I think I've got the better deal." When we got back to the apartment, the Easter basket was sitting on the floor behind the door with a personalized note from the Easter bunny.Originally posted by CJF View PostQuite the commentary on society.
The weather in Los Angeles is perfect for Easter. Sunny and warm, with spring flowers bursting everywhere. We had a nice walk.

Our primary pres showed this video in the last 5 minutes of jr. Primary today. The kids were mesmorized, and their reverence of the video was an Easter miracle in itself. Plus, it made a nice message for us teachers to enjoy as well.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostLast edited by chrisrenrut; 04-08-2012, 03:59 PM.

That latest one is not my favorite. Still, I enjoy seeing the various interpretations of the story. I really like this one, although it is beginning to show its age:Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostInteresting Hispanic/British hybrid accent Jesus has

My Seminary kids loved it. None of them noticed that the actor playing the Savior is one of the bishops in our stake (he was younger when the film was made). I especially like the depiction of Christ's visit to the spirit world while his body was still in the tomb.“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Yes, this one. I forgot that it was originally a seminary video, then released to the 'general population'. It must be 20+ years old now, but I think it's still one of the best the church has produced. The soundtrack, the cinematography, even the acting is pretty good. I agree with you, I think the scene when Jesus enters the spirit world is done perfectly. My cynic heart is still touched by itOriginally posted by LA Ute View PostThat latest one is not my favorite.
