They are wrong when they say that bishops never challenge the amount paid. That which may be asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence. -C. Hitchens

The podcast is much more indepth than the article I quoted so it adds a lot more to the conversation. I found it interesting that based on Dahl survey, most mormons pay tithing on money going into a retirement plan and then plan on paying a full tithe on it when it comes out, so they will be paying a double tithe on a portion of the funds.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostShould have known somebody else would have posted this since it's a few days old.

I've never had a Bishop challenge the amount paid. With tens of thousands of bishops all over the world, has it happened? Stands to reason that it's happened at least a time or two.Originally posted by SoonerCoug View PostThey are wrong when they say that bishops never challenge the amount paid.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 03-09-2012, 09:45 AM.I'm like LeBron James.

Now that shocks me, "most". I have some relatives and friends who are absolutely sold on tithing and they don't do that.Originally posted by Sullyute View PostThe podcast is much more indepth than the article I quoted so it adds a lot more to the conversation. Some of them are going to leave a big chunk of their estate to their church when they die, but I don't think they consider it tithing.
Edit: I would probably tell the surveyor though that I pay going in and coming out. I want him to have a real good impression of mormons.
