Last Sunday I perked up when his talk began, because it had promise. But it ended up becoming yet another worn, tired rendition of the same thing we've heard over and over: you may feel like you have little or nothing now, but neither did Jesus. A message once again delivered by a person who has had everything handed to him in the form of decades and decades of blessings, family, wealth, security, and prosperity. Who is Elder Holland to "know" the plight of the Savior? Did he read it somewhere? Who is Elder Holland to "understand" how we feel?

Perhaps him being an apostle (if you believe in such a thing) might have something to do with that. Not sure. Just a guess. I'm sure you could have given a better talk.

That was very well done! At least those who don't sit and watch these to nit pick everyone a church authority says. That's the beauty of agency. You can take it or leave it. Kind of like the nonsense the church leaders said in the late 90's re: lean years ahead and getting out of debt. They seem pretty smart now.
