  • What makes Jonh Bytheway such an expert?

Has good marketing skills from life experiences. What I wish I knew. Wants to relive life I think when experience brings people many lessons they wouldn't otherwise have learned.

I disagree with him on a BOM talk he gave were he praised Ammons service than in a way railed on his brother Aaron. Did he skip the part were it was Aarons lot to fall into those peoples hands. Said he will have to face Aaron sometime. Will then write what I wish I knew before I railed on Aaron.

Good marketing, but why is he such an expert? About missionary work, Marrigae, Media though I disagree with him of how it is worse now than it was. Interesting.

He's just a regular guy with a funny name. By the way. It's funny.

John dated my cousin when we were at BYU. I used to hang out with him a little bit. Then he broke up with her by telling her she wasn't good enough for him. She ended up marrying his roommate, who's a great guy.

In short, I think John Bytheway's a dork.

I almost substituted for JB at a Youth Conference once. His plane was delayed, and we weren't sure he was going to get here. The First Counselor in the SP wanted me to step in and entertain/inspire the youth in his place.

He made it in enough time to perform his act, and thus was snuffed out the possibility of my career on the Youth Conference/EFY/YSA/Etc. circuit. It's a modern-day Wally Pipp story, in a way.

EDIT: This happened about 15 years ago. I just went to Wikipedia to look him up, as I wanted to see how old he was. I didn't know if his schtick would work as well as a 50 year old man as it did when he was 35 and looked like he was 23. Turns out he does turn 50 this year, and it also says that he is an instructor at BYU in the Religion department. I had thought that BYU had been moving away from the CES-style teachers and toward a more scholarly approach. Is John Bytheway a representative of this new scholarism?

His last name is hilarious, I like how he always mentions that.

This guy's name is also John Bytheway.

There was a family named Bytheway in my ward growing up. They were nice people, but kinda boring.

In talk on sabbath and Elder Herring Bytheway mentioned how Elder Herrings father said Great grandfathers called it holy sabbath, grandfather called it sabbath, fathers Sunday now weekend. We go with great grandfathers. Every generetaim N things you've under one is worse, there were sabbath breakers in great grandfathers days and keepers in ours. Elder Herrings, father encouraged him to play on Sundah though said other athletes did that. We're. lds. Gave the pro,s anyway of Sunday play.

Latest book comparing the harvest and life's lessons. Said school was a break from farm. But closer look school was not based on agrarian model. Busy time for farmers spring and fall when school is in session. Heating and vacation time why school did the system. Rural areas w out for planting and harvesting. Things people believe not real true. Though book I guess on farming has some good points.

I don't think he's an expert on anything but public speaking. If that's good enough to land a gig at BYU teaching religion, God bless him.

I haven't watched it, but does he offer any resources that he produced that I may purchase to assist me with keeping the Sabbath Day holy?
