  • I will admit when I am wrong...

My Ward Mission Leader calling...I am loving it.

The Elders I am working with have taken my recommendations in stride and they are teaching better because of it.

We had a baptism December 31st, and we have a set of brother scheduled for the 4th of February.

The older brother, 18, went to school with TK1 and the younger brother, 13, on one of TK2's best friends. They live about 5 houses away.

We have had the last few discussions in our home, and tonight's was the best I have been in in a long time. The older brother had some great questions and the Elders just ditched the lesson and spent an hour answering away.

    It was great.

    That's great, Tick.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Whenever I think of a ward mission leader, I'm reminded of the one in my home ward growing up. He did a Brazilian BBQ once a month on a Sunday for all of the investigators - it was enough incentive to find someone to investigate the church. Dave Neeleman set the bar pretty high.

It's cool that you're enjoying it. I imagine it's probably the sort of calling where you decide what kind of experience it's going to be.

Tick, I don't know if I told you, but I was WML once. I remember giving all types of excuses as to why I shouldn't be called. In the end, I totally loved it.
          Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Interesting. It's the one calling I think I'd definitely say "no" to.

Scoutmaster was my only No. WML would have been number two.

Now it makes me kinda rethink my stance on scouting. Kinda.

I would still say no to that one though because I value my vacation time, and I want to use that with my family....and DT.

I'm WML now and I like it a lot better than YMs.
