  • Interesting interpertations on prophecies leaders had.

I see it interesting as James E Talmage, Joseph Fielding Smith Orson Pratt and others had ideas on prophecies and BRM changed his mind on some of them. Some have to do with the timing of the Second Coming and Ten Tribes and other prophecies.

I think Orson Pratt may have prophecied people would live to see the Missiouri Temple built. James E Talmage in 1916 prophecied people would live to see the record of the ten tribes and them return, People thinking htere hiding.

JFS personal opinion in 1936 there would be people alive to see the Second Coming. BRm when he first started writing thought the Second Coming would take place fairly early this century and Ten Tribes were hiding.

However BRM changed some things. Toward end of life said 2nd coming way off and Ten Tribes are not hiding somewere posterity dispersed through north countries. Restoration not return of Ten Tribes is what AOF says.

People are exalted I think miscalculated or understood the prophecies Jet and Pratt. Interesting changes on perspective by BRM. Joseph McConkie gave a good talk on how prophecies like fertile fields grow weeds. Interesting how perspectives change on prophetic interpertations particularly by BRM.
