OK, I admit I have felt guilty about checking my BlackBerry during sacrament meeting. I will try to reform now. I don't think it's a bad thing if done discreetly, but it is kind of tacky and a terrible example to my kids. I repent. Well, I will try, anyway. Does that count?

Yes, yes I would absolutely do a crossword in sacrament meeting. Under this rule, I have no problem playing with my BlackBerry in sacrament meeting.

I have only had a Blackberry for just over 1 week. I'm not giving up using it in Sacrament Meeting that quickly. Maybe after 6 months or so I will stop using it.

The issue at hand is that some folks are not paying attention in Church, for whatever reason. And that has been an issue since before blackberries. And even if blackberries are eliminated, there will still be a demographic whose mind wanders. I take this emphasis as a good thing. If that is the most pressing thing that needs to be said, we are in good shape.

Before blackberries and cell phones, I remember passing the time in Sacrament meeting by getting a pen and filling in all the Os and Ps and Ds and Bs on the Sacrament program. Maybe play that game where you have to complete boxes or triangles and then put your initials in them.

I once went through the entire hymnbook and made a list of hymns that had a first line that was different from the title. There were actually more than I thought. The list served no practical purpose, unfortunately.
