  • I once heard SteelBlue was A.P. in his mission. Cool beans.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

It seems so strange how much some things mattered at one point in life.
I get the feeling that this is a phenomenon that we continually experience as we age.

No, I never cried, but if I had....so what? Are you too cool to cry? If my companion had cried, I would be kind to him....not like the bros of the glorified high school clique I had to inhabit.
Yes I am too cool to cry... over being homesick! Since your balls apparently snuck away a long time ago, why don't you join them and leave the Church if you are still sniffling about having to leave mommy and daddy for a couple years.

Fuck off. I didn't love them more than God........the rule varies from mission to mission, so it's not some kind of commandment....it's up to the capriciousness of the mission president and what he feels works best. My two MPs had different rules. I was able to call home, but I feel for those who couldn't. It's a tradition. Dissension is not sedition, but I wouldn't expect a dolt like you to understand nuance.

As I've said before, my wife made a pair of earrings out of my balls and wears them to Church to show people who's boss, but I don't think they look good. Small earrings are much better.

If we're going ad hominem here, I have a sneaking suspicion that says you make nervous jokes about homosexuals.

you are still the biggest pussy on this board and it's even worse that you try to justify it by saying backhanded things about LDS doctrine. Keep justifying your private little forms of apostasy by using relativism and "nuance." Those are great terms. Dissension is not sedition. wow-- keep the revolution alive, slugger.

            • This thread seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

Let me just say that the desire to call home or catch up with relatives is not always a function of homesickness, per se. My brother became engaged while I was on my mission. My older sister had her second baby girl. My younger sister graduated high school. Lots of stuff where it would have been nice to check in once a month to see what was up. And also to share cool experiences with everyone else.

If that makes wuap an oversized vag, then I will happily join him as one that apparently suffers from the same hermaphroditic condition.

The Lakers beat the Pacers to win the NBA championship while I was out. That was tough.

The Lakers lost to the Bulls in the Finals while I was out, Magic revealed that he had HIV, and the 80s Lakers dynasty came to an official close.

In a way, I was really happy to not witness any of it.

I did come home in time to see the Lakers play the Suns in the playoffs. The Lakers go up 2-0 against the overwhelming favorites and head back to LA to play the next 2. The Suns proceed to sweep the next 3. AC Green and James Worthy get into a fight on the court. Horrible.

                    • Some times, when a thread takes a turn like this (thanks to commando) you think to yourself, 'Something should be said about that... but if I say something I will just be adding fuel to a fire.' So what do you do?

Technically, my "little forms" would be heresy, not apostasy.

Much appreciated. I feel like I was thinking these thoughts and went to type them and there you were.
