    marrying too young...

    ...the agony of:

Yes, I realize that infidelity is not to be made light of, but it struck me a little funny that Leann (who married at 21) is going to reveal to us the "agony" of marrying too young. Marrying early certainly poses certain struggles, but characterizing those struggles as agony seems a bit excessive.

    Just another example of victimhood.

Once again my sheltered ways have left me in the dark. I did not know anyone still wore blue eye makeup.

Yeah, she's caught in an affair and she discusses her agony.

It seems like only yesterday that she was a pudgy country darling.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Andre 3000 sang, and people sang along,

            "You think you've got it
Ohh, you think you've got it
But got it just don't get it
            Till' there's nothing at
            AaaaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAaaaaaallllll..
            We get together
            Ohh, we get together
But seperate's always better when there's feelings
            InvooooooOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOooooooOOOOOlved
            If what they say is
            'Nothing is forever'
            Then what makes
            Then what makes
            Then what makes
            Then what makes
            Then what makes
            Love the exception?"
            and

            "
Uh, thank god for mom and dad
            For sticking two together
            'Cause we don't know hooowww...
            UH!"
and it sounds a lot to me like some of the stuff John Taylor said in defense of polygamy, perhaps, the "agony of monogamy."

Getting married young is no excuse for adultery.

It's not "still." Apparently it's back (though lord only knows why). I've seen it on the younger set for awhile now. I'm wondering when they're going to start ratting their hair and using Rave hair spray. It frightens me that I'm old enough to see trends make comebacks. yikes.

See, that's what I figure. At the very least you can just cite it as an excuse for divorce, and THEN go shag somebody else. Get the chronology right, people!!

Marriage licenses should expire like driver's licenses. Every few years a couple should be required to reflect on what they signed up for, confirm that they are still in it for the long haul, and then sign on the dotted line. During the marriage the ownership of stuff should go under one name or the other, in case there is ever a split.

Love is great. I'm in love with Faith, and hope to be her partner until one of us croaks (though if she were to get seriously incapacitated, so that our 'partnership' ended up being a custodial arrangement, I would take care of her to the end, but would go looking for a new partner. I would hope she would do the same, if that would bring her happiness). But I think the idea of 'marriage' is nuts. I believe this to the point that I have stop referring to Faith as a 'wife,' and instead typically refer to her as a 'partner,' or a 'life partner.'

Marrying too young is a big problem. I have been saying this.

What is better? Cohabitation? The results there ain't exactly stellar either.

Sure it is, but does it qualify as agony or justify infidelity? I hardly think so. Early marriage shouldn't be encouraged, but it's not the core problem, either. The problem is, as Il Pad alludes, that we have a society that shuns responsibility and commitment.

Not true. I love Santa Claus and many other rotund individuals. She's an exception.

I married Faith too young, but what was I supposed to do? I was loving the single life when she came along and effed up my plans. I just wish she would have waited a bit longer before sitting next to me in that Book of Mormon Class for RM's.
