Stake conference attendance poll: How do you attend Stake Conference?

We had Stake Conference yesterday afternoon, and the day before that in the evening, and in the afternoon. It occurred to me that if you are in a “leadership calling” (aux presidencies, ward mission, bishopric, etc.) there is up to and possibly in excess of 6 hours of stake conference to attend on that weekend. I was supposed to go to a 4-6 pm meeting, and the 7-9 pm adult meeting on Sat and then again on Sun from 2-4. On Saturday I also cleaned the ward building so that would’ve been 5 hours of churchy stuff. So I went to the 4 pm to show support to our EQP (and in case they took attendance :lame: ) and skipped the 7 pm. I also went to the Sunday session and they actually had some good speakers.

In general though, I think that I have only ever gone to one Saturday Adult session, and I frequently skip the Sunday session.

I voted for "none at all." I haven't been in probably 5 years. That's not to say I don't enjoy it, but I don't enjoy sitting in a stuffy gym on hard metal chairs with 3 small kids, so I just skip it.

I did go to the adult's meeting a few years ago, and it was excellent.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I go if I know the choir director and s/he asks me to sing. Otherwise, I have no desire to go, but will if my wife wants to.

Stake Conf is bye week for church. A good time for a weekend trip.

I do it all, although I'd rather skip the leadership and Sunday meetings. My favorite is the adult meeting as I get to hang out with MJ in a church setting without kids. It kind of always brings back qthe nostalgia of the BYU days. Plus the last adult meeting I went to Elder Jensen mentioned seer stones and top hats. Very cool!

Sunday flat out sucks. We have small kids.

The last time I went to an adult session, a member of the SP told us we were the faithful and then berated us fairly harshly for not doing more.

Like I said, it was the last time I went to an adult session.

I usually just go to Sunday meetings. Though with little ones it is quite pointless to get them to stay still for 2 hours. So we have skipped here and there. I am not going to find a babysitter to go to an adult session so I usually don't go to those.

I consider it Priesthood meeting not Sacrament meeting because the Sacrament isn't passed.

Yet another so-called conference where discussions are not had and opinions are not exchanged.

SIRS and I vote with our feet. We do other family things on those days, and have even gone with friends to other churches instead of to the Stake Beatdown.

What gets me about stake conference is if the Sacrament is the most important thing we do at church, why not take the time, in an extended meeting, to pass it to everyone?

The logic doesn't make sense. "We don't have time to do that." They can pass it to thousands of people during disaster recovery operations, but not before a spiritual meeting?

Yeah, stake conference is in Florence, a drive of over 45 mins. We stay home.

I'm pretty sure I didn't know Stake Conference had Saturday sessions until I was a missionary.

Nowa days we do what we can do and usually one of us will try to make it to one of the sessions, but we don't beat ourselves up if we don't.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Spoken like a true ward leader. The only vacations you can take are during stake conference and general conference.

I have been to maybe 5 adult Saturday sessions in my life. We are Sunday only goers. But I don't mind scheduling myself for work on stake conference weekends.
