And in Guatemala, my old field of labor. He went to the hospital in Esquipulas. Those who know the country will find that frightening. (Maybe the hospital there is better than the scary ones I remember from 30 years ago. Then, the only decent hospital was in Guatemala City. A vascular surgeon? In Equipulas?)

This is the kind of story that is best not published because, as you say, it simply highlights stupid behavior. A missionary scales a wall he isn't supposed to scale, turns his back on a man-eating animal so he can be in a fun photograph, and gets mauled. If the Lord were involved in this specific case in any way, I can't help but think it is because he has a sense of humor, not compassion.

If it were me, i would have been tempted to give a really long prayer while the lion was snacking on the missionary....."and now, Father, we ask thee to bless the following investigators with the individual concerns that we are about to enumerate...."

Yeah on my mission to guatemala our district went to this drive thru zoo called Safari Chapina or something like that... the sisters were stupidly standing over the crocodile pit snapping pics and I couldn't help but feel a premonition that it could've ended up like a certain notorious seminary video...

Well said. The tone of the article almost makes it seem as if the missionary were on his way to do some service in the jungle and got jumped by a couple hungry lions. Not quite.

Were they trying to get a Daniel in the Lions den experience. I heard that Lions don't usually attack people unless they have nothing else to eat. Any case I would not go near them. Hear is a story there was this man on a safari and ran into a lion who was bowing over him. He said thank you thank you. Lion said please don't interrupt me I am saying Grace.

Another one someone shoots a bear. Bear chases him and he prays please help this bear be a Christian Bear. Hears bear say please bless this food I am about to partake of.

What a bunch of horseshit. Everyone knows lions love people. These two missionaries are just a couple drama queens. Lions like to play rough as evidenced by this video.
