Joking aside, personally I thought certain aspects of being a leader were fun, but I wasn't comfortable with it. I don't think I did a tremendous job either. I can be a fairly terse person and I don't think that it helped motivate other 19 year olds.
My favorite privilege was driving the mission van, and seeing all the cities in the mission, because prior to that I had only served in 3 areas over 20 months, so I felt kind of pigeon-holed.
