I'd say Lebowski is probably an "Internet Mormon". He's thoughtful, participates in Church (at least it sounds like he does), but isn't afraid to disagree with the Church on certain issues (e.g., Gay Marriage) and isn't afraid of the historical warts that the Church doesn't always disclose. It's somewhere between being a TBM and someone who is a non-believing participant.
OK, so is an Internet Mormon different than a Progressive Mormon? Or are they about the same?

I believe that the euphemism treadmill currently has Correlated and Uncorrelated Mormon as the new PC term.
"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

I use "Cougarboard Mormon" and "CUF Mormon".

So I am sitting her pondering and to be honest I have never heard anyone refer to themselves as a "true" mormon except on the internet. Perhaps the "true" mormon is the internet mormon.

I am thinking of the mormons I know personally who I would consider pretty darn straight. They are not radical in their thinking, but pay full tithing, attend church regulary, hardly ever break the sabbath, live the WOW. Have had leadership jobs in the church. Three of them I am thinking of have been MP's and two of those in the Temple Presidencies.

I may think of someone, but thinking of all of the ones I have thought of, I have never heard them refer to themselves as "true mormons", ever.

Maybe the "true" is from the constant use of the word? Such as, "I know this church to be true", "Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God' or "The one true church".

A quick check of the GC Corpus shows "true" being used 19,289 times in GC talks. Also "true Mormon" has only been used six times.

I have not been active on the Apologetics scene for a good 2.5 years, so you're probably right (I have no idea what a correlated versus uncorrelated mormon means).
