      • Yes..that is the guy I was talking about. At the very end of the Sunday afternoon session. The camera was on him for a second or two before it finally cut to some outside shots. My children thought it was hilarious. I was disinterested.

Ya know, had you not said anything, I would have never known what that was. Now, if I ever watch The Usual Suspects, I will be constantly wondering what wuap means... Thanks wuap.

              • We had an interesting experience while exiting the Meganacle yesterday. Our higher-up connections are pretty poor, so we had balcony seats. Coming down the escalators from the balcony, there is a constant stream of traffic; pretty much every escalator stair has someone on it. The group of 8 or so people in front of us stumbled into some friends and decided to have a big hugging party right at the bottom of the escalator. They were completely oblivious to the fact that there was an entire escalator full of people coming right behind them.

As we were nearing the bottom, my brother and I looked at each other with a "this might be ugly" look, and I quickly spoke up and asked everyone to keep moving. Either they didn't hear me or they didn't think I was talking to them, but they didn't budge. I quickly shouted "People, keep moving!" but to no avail. Meanwhile, we'd arrived at the bottom of the escalator and there was nowhere to go. My brother and I exchanged looks again, almost with a bit of a "here goes nothing" shrug, and we immediately started pushing the people from the back. My bro is a big dude and has been known to move entire offensive lines when he played, so it wasn't really that difficult. In fact, we weren't really pushing that hard, and our efforts quickly cleared the area from loiterers.

Still, people were still pretty upset about it, and I heard more than a few comments from the group about how it was "not very Christlike" to push and shove your way out of General Conference, particularly after such a spiritual meeting. In the heat of the moment, I was more concerned about my pregnant wife getting squished and trampled than I was concerned with trying to be like Jesus.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I told my wife we really have no excuse for not attending now. The Boise temple is only about 10 minutes away--who knows how close the Meridian temple will be (I'm guessing it will be farther west so it may be just as far or farther from my house as the Boise temple).
A buddy of mine lives in Boise. He was surprised by the Meridian temple announcement b/c he often hears in church about how underutilized the Boise temple is, and Meridian isn't more than 10 miles from the Boise temple.

It almost makes sense to put it out in Eagle or as far away as Middleton. I think the next exit past the temple is Meridian.

I think the statute of limitations has passed on that one.

                            • I am curious to know the cause of the "failure to marry" that is getting the brethren so excited. These things don't just crop up. Usually they are caused by something else that has changed. What has changed? What was done differently with the current 20-somethings that is causing the refusal to marry? Is it possible that it is a change in emphasis somewhere else that is resulting in the inability to marry? Is it the feminization of the young men in the Church and the resulting characteristics that make these young men unable to take the rejection women offer? Is it a rise in immorality and the resulting getting the milk for free prevents bovine purchasing? Are we, heaven forbid, creating even more ice princesses? I'm curious to hear thoughts.
