When 801-422-1588 called this morning asking me to contribute to the Annual Fund, I explained to the very polite young man that I would not give any money directly to the BYU until the Honor Code was revised so that the treatment that Davies received (namely the press conference and later very public shaming in the press) cannot happen again. He said he understood and asked if I wanted to be removed from all alumni communication. I told him no, that I didn't hate BYU, I still supported the teams, the faculty, etc, but that the only weapon I have in hoping the trustees change the HC was to withhold donations and explain the reason for doing so.
