Our EQ had districts and would have the councilor ask each person in his district about HT and then hold a ppi. I went to the first one because I didn't know any better but having a twenty something kid ask me, someone in their forties, if he could do anything to help me both a little insulting and naive on his part. It was the last one I went to. One of the best things I enjoy about HP group is that they are a lot more layed back about HT and you don't have to shovel or move anybody.

See, this is where the Church could come in as being revolutionary in how they handle "meetings" etc. If they are truly wanting us to spend time with our families as much as possible yadda yadda yadda.Originally posted by TheAzzuri View PostI'd also recommend skype. It's been very helpful.
I know the main concern is confidentiality, but, it seems that the Church could have a secured web access established etc. I would be somewhat concerned about people recording it etc...but if there were some guidelines previously established about confidentiality, topics that can and can not be discussed via the net, etc...for most of the callings, this could be done.
Bishopric, PEC, Ward Counsel/Welfare meetings should not be done over the web...but, couldn't most everything else?"Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."
Hmm... Good motivation for me to remain active I guess.

He didn't get that memo. We don't have to mess with this stuff in the HPG. We spend all of our spare time doing cannery and sealing assignments."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Now we just need seven other people to respond in the same fashion. Great movie by the way.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostHe didn't get that memo. See, Jacob, we're putting cover sheets on all of our TPS reports now.
Is there any other goal than 100% home teaching? Jacob, maybe you should show up and propose a goal of 62% home teaching just to see the look on the district leaders face."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Wow, can I be in your EQ Presidency? We meet for ~3 hrs every Thursday night and go visit less-active, talk about future plans/activities, tweak the home teaching lists, or go on splits with the missionaries.Originally posted by Surfah View PostThat's funny. I'd be busy that evening. In almost 6 months now as EQP I have had only one formal EQ presidency meeting at my house. All the others have been in the hallway during the second hour or via email/text.
No wonder I am so burned out by the whole thing.

I've seen Office Space a few times. Sorry for forgetting what a TPS report was. I'll try to be more devoted to these cult films so that the cool guys don't think I'm such a loser.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWeren't you also the guy that didn't get The Big Lebowski?
I'm sensing a pattern here.
Lets just get this out of the way. I haven't seen Spinal Tap and Rocky Horror Picture Show sucks.

Now there's a classic. I saw Extract the other night and it doesn't even come close to Office Space, though it did have some very funny moments. The moronic Rocker dude and racist, cat-loving, disgruntled female production line worker were hilarious.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostHe didn't get that memo. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
