I'm glad the outer facade will be saved, but it's somewhat disappointing that this will no longer be a publicly accessible building.

Why? Did the general public often enter the building? It was a stake conference almost every weekend, wasn't it? Folks can still walk around, and I didn't think the interior was a great architectural feat. It was definitely in need of a makeover.

It was used fairly frequently for concerts and other public events, wasn't it?

I'm very disappointed. This should be kept as a tabernacle.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Meh. I loved singing in the annual stake choir Christmas concerts in the building, but it was so uncomfortable- especially in the summer. We had our law school convocation in that building and it felt like the 1800's in there; all sweltering hot/ everyone using their programs as fans. It will get a lot more use this way obviously.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I don't get why it's so disappointing. I also don't understand the supposed audible gasps. I think it's a pretty rad use of a cramped and uncomfortable building. It's certainly better than being bulldozed which was an option.
