    I doubt that.

Point me to where I've said/implied that I form my opinions based solely on the LDS Church position (get serious though, no one does that) and I'll entertain you through boardmail.

That is an excellent suggestion. I have no idea why they haven't already been doing this for years.

I'd be ok with that. Members should probably honor the church's request that they not sell the tix though. It isn't too surprising that some people are selling them given the demand. I agree with the poster that said the church should broadcast the concert to reduce the incentive to sell the tix and it would give more people access.

I don't get what you or YOhio are hung up on. We all have opinions, some of which are opposed to the Mormon Church's opinions. I sometimes share my opinions here in The Foyer, therefore I always take a position opposite the Mormon Church?

              It would hurt CD sales.

Scottie I was just funning with you a little bit. Don't take it too personal.

I think they do show this stuff on BYU TV. I remember seeing Andrew Bocelli a while back singing with the Mo Tab in a Christmas program.

Every year for the past six years, I've attended this concert. I usually write up a review for it.

Also every year for the past six years, I've invited non-member friends to attend. It's one of the few church productions I consider to be of great quality and enjoyable to everyone--also not a hard-hitting missionary opportunity and uncomfortable in that sense. Sometimes they come and sometimes they dont.

This is the first year we didn't get any tickets. Neither did any of our friends or acquaintances. I refuse to pay $30 or $40 a ticket, so I guess I'm not going.

All that the ticket scalping will accomplish is that the church won't have young, pop singers guest perform. Because the ticket scalping is being moved by Archuleta, not by the MoTab.

So next year, we're back to unknown broadway performers or aging divas with cracking voices. Hellooooo Pia Zadora!

And it would be in HD, because BYU-TV has a cool truck.

The Superbowl and Final Four are broadcast live every year. Ever try to get tickets for those events?

It is interesting to see which of our so-called-capitalists will find selling tickets to a concert featuring a pop musician to be 'Bush league.'
If Coldplay were looking to do this as a service to the community, and people attempted to use said service of others to profit for themselves, then yes, that is "Bush League".

It's the same thing IMO as adults who send little kids up to stars to ask for their autograph when their only intent is to turn around and sell the merchandise for their profit. Absolutely Bush League.
