Any of you folks seen this nascent Mormon University?

They have four faculty and staff:

* Harvey B. Black
* Dr. Susan Easton Black
* Dr. Evan L. Ivie
* Dr. Clive D. Moon

And they have a kick-ass new version of the honor code that allows coffee if you're not Mormon:

Student Standards:

There are four basic standards for all students:

* abstinence from alcohol & tobacco
* morality & honesty
* clean and modest dress
* ecclesiastical endorsement by a bishop, pastor, or priest

In addition, students will be expected to adhere to the standards of their particular faith. For example, LDS students are expected to attend their Church meetings and are to refrain from the use of coffee or tea.

It's not really a Mormon university, as it isn't affiliated with the Mormon church, but I understand what you're saying. It based on the guidelines of the LDS church.

I like that it expects the students to follow their own religious guidelines. Let's hope this is successful.

So you don't specify sexual abstinence before marriage, but you do make clear that you can't drink a beer. Once again, the WoW Monster rears its head. Alcohol is the great concern for the ages.

Well if you have read the Book of Mormon, you know that alcohol consumption invariably leads to a pride cycle.

I actually think there are pretty good reasons to keep alcohol off of campuses that have nothing to do with the WOW. Can't really explain the tobacco thing that way, but cigarettes are just nasty (another thing that greatly diminishes the hotness of Jennifer Aniston).

Wow. Sounds ambitious. Good for them, I guess.

I just find it strange that this HC doesn't specifiy LOC issues but does specific WoW issues.
