I'm with the lesser ape on this one. As asked, the question is nonsensical without some outside force pulling the strings.

There are many things I hope to accomplish and many principles I live by, but they don't seem relevant to this question.

Geesh, like there could be no stylistic reason to pose the question like that, in the religious section, of an LDS-centric discussion board. The question was intended for all-comers, believers and nonbelievers alike. I'm sure that if you puzzled real hard, you could probably figure out some way to interpret either the question or my repeatedly stated intent in a way to contribute to the discussion.

        1. Life is the purpose of life. We procreate simply to continue the species. Life has no purpose other than being.

        2. Since life's only purpose is to continue itself, we have to imbue it with meaning.

        3. While this is subjective and cultural, even the individual assigns meaning to circumstances that are the essence of perceiving a thing or an action.

        4. When like-minded individuals coalesce on a belief, it can become shared.

        5. My shared belief in the meaning of life is that I want to learn to be like Jesus Christ. Whether he is the Savior of All, or just the essence of God as Love, trying to emulate his life, I believe, can lead us to contentment equal to the Socratic Good Life.

        6. Therefore, Life is trying to be like Jesus, and procreation.
"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon
